heißt die neue Asia-CD/DVD, die am 15. Oktober in Europa veröffentlicht wird.

Das Master stammt aus dem Bandarchiv und die Band selbst war es, die diesen Auftritt für Filmaufnahmen auswählte.

Die Setliste enthält Songs aus ihrem Reunionalbum "Phoenix" und natürlich die bekannten Klassiker. "Spirit of the Night" wird als CD and DVD in separaten Editionen veröffentlicht und in limitierter Edition auch als Doppel-Digi-Pak.

This Live CD / DVD captures Asia in their original line-up, performing to an enthusiastic crowd. The masters come from the band’s own archive and this is a show they have personally selected to be filmed and released. It’s a raw and honest view of the musicians and the perspiration on their brows, as they play to a receptive audience. It is truly a compelling viewing and a “must have” for all Asia fans.

The DVD shows the band playing tightly together in harmony with each other and the audience in an energetic and energizing rock concert. The filing is “fly on the wall” placing the viewer seemingly in the audience rather than in a cinema. All of the band supports this type of filming and are looking forward to a dvd which allows the fans to almost join them on stage.

The set list features songs from their reunion album “Phoenix” along with a selection of the classics that all the fans would expect. The recording is a historical document of where the band was at the time and a snapshot of their musicianship, camaraderie and passion. This live CD / DVD is an irreplaceable companion to the studio album. “Spirit of the Night” shows the band at the top of their game. Don’t miss it !

Das Cover ist schon mal ansprechend.

Also ich sehe diese Veröffentlichung eher kritisch.
Erst 2007 kam die DoCd/DVD (Live in Tokyo) raus.
Über die hälfte der Titel überschneidet sich hier.
Auch wäre bei Live in Tokyo pro CD mehr als 20 Minuten Spielzeit für weitere Titel frei gewesen.
Das ist doch Abzocke!

Tja, warum auch? "Phoenix" war ein Total-Flop, den die Jungs schnell vergessen wollen.

Na ja, das ist doch bei den alten-Herren-Bands inzwischen üblich: z.B. ist die Union-DVD unserer Titelhelden ja auch nur ein Remake, und es gibt derer mehrerer Beispiele. Und die Aufnahmen von den aktuellen Konzerten hebt man erst mal noch 10 Jahre auf bevor die Erstveröffentlichung das Geschäft wieder ankurbelt, um sie dann in 25 Jahren als Remake NEU heraus zu bringen. Besonders fies finde ich übrigens die Neuauflagen längst (mehrfach) auf den Markt gebrachter Zusammenstellungen unter anderem Namen, d.h. die Song-List und der Ursprung der Aufnahmen sind dieselben, bloß die optische Aufmachung und vielleicht der Titel ist/sind anders. Das nenne ich "Nepper, Schlepper, Bauernfänger!"

Union ist z.B. was ganz besonderes. Ich warte schon seit dem Mai 1991 darauf!
Aber 2 Livealben innerhalb 3 Jahren mit fast der gleichen Setlist.
Die Songs welche sich nicht überschneiten hätte man schon auf Live in Tokyo platzieren können.
