"It was great to have played with two very different drummers. Bill Bruford’s playing was almost diametrically opposite to Alan White’s. Bill led with his snare drum and used his bass drum for accents in a jazz influenced way whereas Alan came, as we all know, from the simplicity of playing Imagine – just very straight rock, pop drums and so a completely different drummer and you can hear the difference on the live album 'Yessongs.'"

Roger Dean über das Cover von "Yessongs":

"The first thing I had to do was re write history on the 'Fragile' world because when the 'Fragile' world breaks up those little lumps of world are very square, little segments of the world with vertical cliffs and things like that and I figured I needed something more pie shaped or triangular so I sketched a new disintegrating world which was different to the first 'Fragile' one. Then I took those different pie shapes and had them drifting through space, finding a new planet, life starting and a city growing in the background but that revisit of 'Fragile' stayed a sketch in my sketchbook for forty year."
