Am 31. Oktober erschien das neue Album von den Strawbs: "Prognostic".
Auf zwei Tracks spielt Rick Wakeman mit, der ja in seiner Pre-YES-Zeit auch
einmal Miglied der noch sehr jungen Band gewesen ist. Neben ihm beteiligten
sich John Hiseman, Roger Glover, Tony Fernandez u. a.
Nach erstem Reinhören habe ich mir das Album gleich bestellt.

Am 31. Oktober erschien das neue Album von den Strawbs: "Prognostic".
Auf zwei Tracks spielt Rick Wakeman mit, der ja in seiner Pre-YES-Zeit auch
einmal Miglied der noch sehr jungen Band gewesen ist. Neben ihm beteiligten
sich John Hiseman, Roger Glover, Tony Fernandez u. a.

Das sind allerdings - bis auf das bisher unveröffentlichte The River/Down By The Sea - ausschließlich bekannte Titel alter Alben, vielleicht ein wenig überarbeitet (aber z.B. im Fall von "Heartbreak Hill" sicher nicht verbessert) oder ergänzt und remastert - was immer das auch bedeuten mag. "Deep In The Darkest Night" ist in der Fassung des 2005 erschienenen Albums "Cousins & (Conny) Conrad - High Seas" vertreten. Wakemans Piano ist unüberhörbar, das Tempo des Songs gegenüber der "Full-Strawbs-Version" auf dem Album "The Broken Hearted Bride" wesentlich langsamer. Und "Blue Angel" (mit Wakeman, Glover, Hiseman) entstammt dem Soloalbum von Dave Cousins "Two Weeks Last Summer" von 1972. Also leider nix Neues von Rick. Und auch nicht von den Strawbs. Das Album soll eher als musikalischer Begleitung der aktuellen Cousins-Biografie "Exorcising Ghost" dienen.
