I signed on to produce a Chris Squire tribute record... It will have multiple guest artists. The rhythm section for the entire record is Jay Schellen (drums) and myself (bass). Tracking all day !!!!
This is a project near and dear to my heart of course !!!
Ah, es wird also ein Chris Squire Tribut Album geben. Sehr löblich und sehr interessant.
Hoffentlich sind Marillion und die Männer um Neal Morse mit dabei.

Inzwischen sind etliche Songs bekannt, die auf dem Album sein werden. Billy Sherwood arbeitet ja seit einiger Zeit daran.
Deshalb ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass das Album Chris' Klassiker wie "The Fish", "Onward", "On the silent Wings of Freedom"
umfassen wird, natürlich auch Songs aus seinem Solo-Abum ("Hold out your Hand"), aber auch Stücke wie "The More we live -
Let go", die in Zusammenarbeit mit Billy komponiert wurden.
Im Netz gibt es etliche Diskussionen, vor allem warum nicht Wegbegleiter wie Anderson, Rabin oder Wakeman mitspielen.
Billy meinte nur, dass es sein "Baby" wäre, aber auch der letzte Ort an dem er Auseinandersetzungen führen will. Er meinte
alle hätten ja die Möglichkeit und das Geld ein eigenes Tribut-Album aufzunehmen.
Aus dem Yes - Lager sind bisher Davison, Kaye, Moraz bekannt, dazu gesellen sich noch bekannte Größen wie Steve Hogarth,
Steve Hackett, Annie Haslam, Jordan Rudess oder Steve Porcaro plus weitere 17 bis 18 Musiker. Man darf also gespannt sein,
wie Annie Haslam "Onward" singt, oder "h" die Cover-verson von "Hold out ..." im Studio trällert.

BN: You’ve been working on a Chris Squire tribute album – we’ve heard that the record company asked you not do the final mix. What’s going on with that now?
BS: I really don’t know. This was a shock to me , but sometimes choices are made at a higher level that leave you a little perplexed, and this is one of them.
BN: Did you know that there is a fan petition going round to have the record company change their minds on this?
BS: I heard about that. That’s a very kind thing for the fans to do. I appreciate them rallying around the notion, because I know they feel as strongly about it as I do. I have the desire to see it through and make it the best it can be.

Aber auch ohne Steve Howe, Geoff Downes ... ?
Ich glaube ein paar Bassisten hätten ihm auch gerne Tribut gezollt, aber eine schöne Anzahl an guten Sängern(innen) ist auch dabei.
