"I'd like to share my latest work with you. Instant Scenes, Volume I is a piano suite that was improvised and recorded on a May afternoon, shortly after my return from a semester in India, where I was on the faculty at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. I had been planning on recording an album of piano instrumentals, and was fortunate to have the microphones ready to roll when inspiration struck. Instant Scenes, Volume 1 is a suite of improvised piano pieces that was recorded live, in sequence, on a piano that's been on the earth for more than 100 years. It was a joy to play; all charms, quirks, and inspiration.
