Schade, gerade auf Camel hatte ich mich echt gefreut:

It is with great sadness and regret that Camel Productions must announce the cancellation of Camel's 2023 tour. Shortly after rehearsals, Andrew Latimer became troubled by a sharp pain in his lower back that advanced into his leg and foot. He was sent for diagnostic tests which quickly revealed a severe condition that requires urgent surgery. Recovery time is uncertain and it is this uncertainty that prevents us looking at other options such as postponement. However recovery is suggested to take 8-12 weeks minimum so there is no possibility of Andrew continuing with the tour. And without Andrew, there can be no tour so cancellation is unavoidable.

We know this news will be immensely upsetting to fans as it is to the band. We are all so grateful for the support of fans who purchased tickets and particularly appreciative of the many emails from fans near and afar who shared their excitement. Throughout his career, Andrew Latimer has had numerous physical challenges on tours and has always overcome them. Camel look to the future for another opportunity to write The Final Chapter.

Hab gerade die Info vom Reichenbacher Veranstalter bekommen, dass an neuen Terminen gearbeitet wird, also evtl. doch Verlegung als Komplettabsage.

Oh nein... Da wollte ich mit einem Kumpel hin, das wäre einer der musikalischen Höhepunkte
des Jahres geworden. Hoffentlich geht es Latimer schnell wieder besser!

Am 15. Oktober 2025 wird es ein neues Camel-Album geben - "The Longest Journey".
Darauf freue ich mich sehr. Dazu gibt es eine Tour in Europa.
Das Album kann man ab 15.08.2025 vorbestellen.
Laut Band gibt es eine Rückkehr der Band zu ihren progressiven Wurzeln mit
"komplizierte Instrumentalpassagen und aufsteigende Gesangsmelodien", so die Band
selbst.

Ich sehe die Chancen, Camel noch einmal live sehen zu können, allmählich schwinden. Allerdings wird mit den letzten Satz im Zitat doch noch etwas Hoffnung ausgedrückt. Ich wünsche Andy Latimer - nicht nur aus egoistischen Gründen - gute und umfassende Besserung.

Leider Fake. Colin Bass hat das wohl schon vor einer Woche dementiert. Schade. Aber man weiß ja eh nicht mehr, was stimmt. Auch ein Dementi ließe sich fälschen.

Wobei ein Blick auf die Seite, auf der die Camel-News verkündet werden, zeigt: Dort wird auch eine Genesis-Reunion und eine Beatles-Tour für 2025/26 angekündigt.
